If you have textured walls, you'll need to apply a liner first (or smooth the surface via sanding) so the texture doesn't shine through. Small "bubbles" or air pockets can appear over surface divots as the paper acts as papier-mache over the surface. Here is an example of a liner. We also suggest painting the wall white so dark colored paint doesn't show through.
