No, box springs are not included. We recommend selecting one that sits 3–4 inches below the top of the rails for a flush or slightly recessed mattress. Keep in mind that mattress height is personal—consider your preferred bed height and ease of access when making your decision. For 9” rails, we recommend a 5” box spring. For 11 rails, we recommend a 6” box spring. It will sit ~0.5-1" below the rails.
